Gazing On The Beauty Of The Lord

Rev Thomas Dubay SM wrote and spoke frequently about prayer and contemplation.  He knew what he was talking about as he had absorbed the wisdom of St Teresa and St John of the Cross.  He’s worth reading and listening to.

Here’s a link to a piece by Fr. Dubay for you to enjoy and profit from.

Everything that Fr Thomas Dubay SM says in “Gazing on the Beauty of the Lord” is so true and reliable!
Fr Dubay’s teaching is practical and borne out by experience. He was a highly regarded spiritual director and retreat master. Anyone who has listened to Fr Dubay’s talks or read his other writings on prayer will know that Sts John of the Cross and Teresa of Avila were guiding lights for him; and he has provided excellent, sound and helpful commentaries on their works.

Thanks Les, that’s one of the clearest explanations of meditation and contemplation I have read. It’s also a very encouraging and contemporary take on prayer. I have just downloaded some of his podcasts from EWTN so thanks for putting me on to him.

    Glad to help Marcelle.
